Making Rounds: It’s time for the New Year roundup!

| News

We’d love to say that all the travelling around to conferences, speaking at panels alongside some of the top professionals in the industry, and living out of a suitcase for whole weeks during the year is a huge drag and an inevitable burden that comes with the job, but in most cases it’s actually quite fun, informative, and exciting. 2013 turned out to have a heavily packed agenda for InPulse Digital so we’d just like to wrap up the year by going through some of its highlights of the year. ANA Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Conference – Los Angeles Any excuse is a good excuse to visit Los Angeles, but few are better than sharing a couple of days with a true who’s who of advertising, discussing “Marketing to a Multicultural Nation”. An awesome exchange took place about whether Total Marketing Approach and Multicultural Approach are compatible concepts or different strategies altogether. Highlights included the folks at Diageo talking about how they began promoting Guiness in the US through the figure of the Irish leprechaun until they realized sophisticated consumers had no interest in Leprechauns, and the award winning inclusive cereal campaign from General Mills. AHAA - Miami, April Going to AHAA is like a family reunion of sorts for us (except we don’t have to clean up after everyone’s gone :)). It’s a time to catch up with all our friends and partners from the Hispanic advertising world, discuss on the latest in the industry, and get to see what is coming up for the next year. (Oh! And kudos to our clients Universal for the awesome after party!) Billboard If you think the Billboard Conference is all about record sales and charts you better think again. In the past few years, Leila Cobo (Executive Director of Latin Content & Programming) has revamped the conference into a true forum where the latest business models and music marketing trends are thoroughly discussed by the actual people who are making things happen. You should not miss the next one. Vallempresa, Cali Colombia The sheer size and quality of this conference organized by the local government of the state of Valle del Cauca (Comfandi) was a very impressive, especially since it´s a relatively new event. The conference featured professional and inspiring speakers, as well as our own Diego Prusky, who confessed he was quite nervous when he took the stage and there were over 2,000 attendees (!!!) ready to hear what he had to say. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Latinvision CEOs, New York It was a great to see some familiar but mostly new faces at this event, which although it doesn’t have the size of the rest, had high quality speakers, moderators and really good questions and information. We want to thank the people behind all the events we were a part of this year for making us feel so welcome and making all the travelling worthwhile. Hope to see you again in 2014. Happy holidays!
